DO I HAVE TO BE FIT FOR RICHLIFE?

No! The purpose of RICHLIFE is to get you fit or fitter. We all have to start somewhere. You will be surrounded by people of all fitness levels, yes there will be some beasts and they are your motivation. Modifications and scaling options will be given during class. It will be hard but all you can do is your best, start slow and go light. For all beginners it’s important to watch the foundational videos on this website. Beginners are expected to push themselves a smidge out of their comfort zone but not to blow way past it.

IS RICHLIFE THE SAME AS CROSSFIT?

No. Though we share very similar training methodologies and philosophies, Richlife does differ. We train varied functional movement at high intensity but we don’t focus on the high skill gymnastics and Olympic weightlifting movements like our big brother. We have a mountain focus and train the big components of fitness like Strength, Endurance, Flexibility, stamina, speed and power. We focus less on co-ordination, balance, accuracy and agility (though it is present in small doses). With the barbell we focus on powerlifting (squat, dead lift, bench) and less on cleans, clean and jerk, snatches. I believe this approach is well suited to living in the mountains and maximizing inclusivity.

CAN I GET A REFUND IF I GET INJURED?

Richlife doesn’t give refunds for injuries because with an injury you can often still get to class and modify your training. It won’t be the same but you can still work on your fitness and mental health with adaptations. In rare circumstances refunds or freezes may be given but this will be done on a case by case basis (ask Rich).

CAN I GET A REFUND IF I’M SICK?

No refunds for sickness, just like your ski pass if you are sick no refunds or extensions are given. It sucks when you are sick but it would be a logistical nightmare for a small business if we had to cater for every sickness.

IF I MISS A SESSION WILL THIS CARRY OVER INTO THE NEXT RICHLIFE SERIES?

No. You sign up for each 4 week series (usually 12 classes in 4 weeks). It is your responsibility to get to all those sessions, if you miss one or more then these sessions are sacrificed and don’t roll over to the next month.

CAN I SIGN UP FOR JUST 1 WEEK, 2 WEEKS, 3 WEEKS INSTEAD OF THE FULL 4 WEEK SESSION?

If classes are at full capacity then no. If they aren’t at capacity then pro rated prices can be made on a case by case basis (ask Rich).

DO YOU ACCEPT DROP INS?

If classes are at full capacity then no. If they aren’t at capacity then drop ins are accepted on a case by case basis (ask Rich). The drop in must have previous experience in weight lifting and general physical fitness. Beginner drop ins are not encouraged as to much time would be spent on this individual and the fully paid group would get less attention.

I’VE NEVER TRAINED BEFORE, CAN I JOIN?

Yes, we all have to start somewhere. Watching the foundational videos on this website are vital in going into your first session with some background knowledge.

CAN I TRANSFER MY CLASSES TO SOMEBODY ELSE?

No. Classes are non transferable.

CAN I SWITCH BETWEEN TIME SLOTS?

Yes but with the ‘SHOW UP AND SEE POLICY’ in effect. You are always guaranteed a spot in the time slot you signed up for, if you need to switch to an earlier or later class then turn up and if there is space then you are all good, if not be prepared to go for a run. No need to contact Richlife.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN THE WINTER IN WHISTLER?

We keep training, we just change locations from the Audain (outside) to the Westin Hotel (inside).
