THE PURPOSE

To test physical and mental fortitude. To complete 7 challenges that test all elements of endurance across multiple disciplines and terrains. To convert these often solo pursuits into a group challenge where we finish together as a unit. To showcase the land of Whistler and those who play amongst its natural treasures.

THE CHALLENGE

To summit the three mountains of Whistler, Blackcomb and Sproatt that surround our awe inspiring town. To navigate through the 5 lakes of Whistler. To finish with the most inspiring event that Whistler offers the world. To tackle the disciplines of fitness, trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, off road triathlon and on road triathlon. To steadily increase in difficulty and duration as the week goes on. To embrace discomfort as your friend.

 

day 1

700 burpees

All in one sitting, location Rainbow Park, Whistler

 
 

day 2

lake to lake kayak

End of Alpha Lake - Nita Lake - Alta Lake - River of Golden dreams - End of Green lake

Portage kayak between lakes

 

day 3

blackcomb hike

Hike ascent trail from base of upper village to Horstman Hut at the top of Blackomb Mountain

 

day 4

lord of the squirrels

Mountain Bike up ‘into the mystic’ to the top of Sproatt Mountain (TV tower) and then down the blue run ‘Lord of the Squirrels’. Start and Finish in Function Junction

day 5

offroad backwards tri

Starting at Wedge parking lot:

Run Comfortably Numb (approx 24k),

Mtn bike Zappa Lost Lake loop (approx 10k),

Swim Lost Lake (approx 400m)

 

day 6

valley to peak

Trail run from mountain square - up singing pass - accross musical bumps - onto high note trail - up to innushuk at top of peak chair

 
 

day 7

half IRONMAn

ironman 70.3 canada, whistler, bc

1500m swim

90k road bike

21k road run

$305 entry fee

 

RULES

  1. Each event starts at 7am

  2. Each person must be accompanied by at least one other at all times during each event

  3. All aid stations are to be carried on your person (apart from 70.3)

  4. Mandatory group beer at 7pm every evening
