Yoga has impacted my life massively and I intend to share the benefits. It has helped heal my overactive body, reduced stress, improved my relationships and inspired me to continue to fulfill my potential.

Power yoga places emphasis on the balance between flexibility, strength and relaxation. You will increase your breath awareness throughout your practice. It assists in strengthening under-used muscles while simultaneously releasing tension in overused muscles. Designed to empower you mentally and physically, it will motivate you in all aspects of your life. Great emphasis is placed on inclusiveness, be it fitness level, age, size, experience or background. Expect sweat, flow, hands-on assistance, and deep rest… oh, Shavasana!

POWERFUL | TRANSFORMATIONAL | LIFE CHANGING
As a gym rat and team sport enthusiast, yoga was an intimidating world of bendy people, incense and chanting. I was the only guy in my first class; surrounded by Lululemon stretchy pants (not knowing where to look) I was completely out of my comfort zone and had no escape once it began. I struggled, groaned, lost my balance and created a puddle of sweat that crept ominously towards my neighbours throughout. Finally, Shavasana came. The deep rest, the end of the practice. Walking out of that class I still can’t shake the feeling. It was incredible; I felt clarity of the mind, somewhat lighter in my body and rejuvenated. I was completely taken aback.

My practice continued and I decided to do my 200 hour teacher training at White Gold Yoga here in Whistler. My intention was to gain a greater understanding of the human body that I could apply to fitness. Little did I know what I would really learn. It took some time for my emotional resistance to fade as I began to understand yoga is not just about flexibility. It became a mental release, a way to train my brain to improve all aspects of my life. I believe tension, trauma, memories and negative emotions are stored in your bodily tissues. The poses unlock your body to enable the negativity, doubt and pain to be released, creating space for positive healing and inspiration to enter in. I cannot wait to lead you in the practice that has enhanced my life.
